FISA

PROJECT GOALS
The Federation of Independent School Associations (FISA) is the central voice for independent and private schools in BC. FISA was ready to take this voice online. For years, FISA has organized, advocated for and defending independent schools, but to continue doing so, they needed to improve their site’s identity and usability.

The new site had to reflect the dignified leadership that FISA already embodies. It needed to map the hundreds of member schools from around BC, making them easy for parents to find and simple for administrators to edit and maintain.

OUR APPROACH
Domain7 took time to understand who FISA is and the role they maintain. Our findings were translated into a design that far exceeded the client’s expectations. The map requirement was fulfilled with a searchable school finder based on Google Maps, and there is now also a breezy CMS experience that lets admins upload all types of content with a few clicks.

RESULTS
Immediately after launch, the Executive Director began a province-wide tour, dropping by school gymnasiums and meeting rooms to proudly showcase the site. In these rooms, stakeholders across the province expressed their admiration. Beyond the positive verbal feedback, stats show that member schools are consistently referring to the site for up-to-date information, and the FISA staff find the site remarkably painless to edit.
